ADHD: Acceptance is Empowering

 

Saturday, November 14th, 2009 - 8:30 am to 5:00 pm followed by a social event with appetizers and no-host bar from 5 pm - 9pm

Prices  

Members:   $95  

 Students:  $35  Please bring your Student ID Card with you.

Non-members: $120 

CLOCK HOURS/CEs  6 Clock Hours are available for teachers/educators for $25.  6 CEs are approved by NBCC and 7 prescribed credits by AAFP for $25.  Other applications pending.

Speakers/Keynotes Teens, Young Adults, college students are welcome!  Check out the agenda to see details on times of specific classes.



Ari Tuckman will be the morning keynote, delivering an uplifting and motivational presentation titled "Acceptance is Empowering: Control What You Can, Let Go of the Rest."  Ari Tuckman, PsyD, MBA is a clinical psychologist in private practice in West Chester, PA.  He is the author of  "More Attention, Less Deficit: Success Strategies for Adults with ADHD" and "Integrative Treatment for Adult ADHD: A Practical, Easy-to-Use Guide for Clinicians".

 

 


 

 

Gina Pera will be the afternoon keynote as she presents a topic on ADHD and relationships.  Gina Pera is an ADHD advocate and author of "Is It You Me or Adult ADD: Stopping the Roller Coaster When Someone You Love Has Attention Deficit Disorder."

 

 


 

Neil Peterson of the Edge Foundation will be speaking at an evening social event with appetizers and no-host bar, presenting Transitions: Myth vs. Reality.  This presentation will be on what students and families need to know or do to prepare for the transition to college and independent living.    Neil Peterson is a successful businessman, public servant and leading advocate for the disabled in his role as the head of the not-for-profit Edge Foundation.

The Edge Foundation helps students with ADHD reach their academic, professional and social potential.  Neil is also the founder of Flexcar which was purchased in 2005 by Steve Case of AOL and recently Flexcar merged with Zipcar.
